Backpacks 4 SA Kids

CME formed a corporate partnership with Backpacks 4 SA Kids in 2022. The CME team were inspired by the cause and commitment of Backpacks 4 SA Kids founder Rachael Zaltron and we just knew that this was an organisation that we wanted to contribute too.

Backpacks 4 SA Kids is an organisation that supports over 10,000 kids every year, with 6500 through the tailored Backpacks program. Backpacks 4 SA Kids provides support to vulnerable and homeless children and adolescent kids, through putting together survival backpacks, home starter packs and anchor packs with every day needs suitable for the age of the child. In most circumstances this backpack will be the only possession that the child or teenager has.

Backpacks 4 SA Kids provides the CME team with a workplace giving platform, where any CME team member can make ongoing automated contributions to Backpacks 4 SA Kids. The CME team also goes onsite and assists in packing the backpacks which range from infant size 00000 up to kids’ size 16. While the compiling of the goods is happening, Rachael and her wonderful team share stories of what it means to the children when they receive a backpack or Christmas gift, it is truly moving.

CME has made an annual company workplace giving commitment of $6000 per year and will continue to raise money and awareness at every chance possible.

Corporate Partnership with RSPCA SA

CME was the inaugural corporate partner with RSPCA SA back in 2014. Being a company of animal lovers, animals are very close to our heart, and it is in this light that CME teamed up with RSPCA SA, to raise awareness, donations, and community support through a range of channels including our community, social media, corporate and workplace activities.

To date, this has included blanket collection and delivery, thrift shop logistics, donation promotions and facilitation, social media and database campaigns, fundraising, volunteering, and ad hoc support (ice donations in summer and blanket donations in winter).

CME ANZAC Dawn Service Hallett Cove

In 2015, CME were inspired by the vision of the Hallett Cove and Districts Lions Club to hold an ANZAC Day Dawn Service on the Hallett Cove Foreshore. The CME team assisted by establishing an infrastructure plan, including temporary lighting, temporary power, and distribution boards, and provided technical support for the sound team, along with a standby team on the day.

Due to a warning of gale force winds and heavy rain for the night before, we swiftly created a backup plan for express set-up on the ANZAC Day morning. Despite the forecast, the inaugural service was a great success with the crowd numbers in excess of 8000 people, and for us, heralded the start of a long and enduring relationship between the CME Group and the Hallett Cove Dawn Service. CME has continued our support of the Hallett Cove Lions Club and this event still to this day.
